Does anyone have a decent pix(s) of the original v berth side storage cabinets. I've taken mine out...along with every single other piece of wood to redo and I have forgotten which pieces make them up. In particular the base and any shelves. Any pix would help. Thanks - Keijo

EDIT... i have mistakenly thought you were asking about a venture 25. So the first part ot the following reply may not be correct. The 2nd and 3rd part will always be true.

Im sorry to tell you that unless a previous owner had some photos of that boat, you arent going to see any because there were no "original" shelves in the vberth of a V25... they would have beed added by a previous owner at some point in the boats life..

the best thing to do, as you have realized is, take photos... always take photos before and after. Top, bottom, fore, aft and amidships... inside and out and every piece of hardware, rigging and option that is included... you never know when a photo will come in handy for reference for whatever reason....

And whenever you take a measurment, write it down in a log book, because if you needed the measurement once, it will be needed again when its inconvienient to get it from the boat.

Pictures of various 1976 O'DAY 25s, cabinets in tHe head compartment, don't see any in the V-Berth (accept one bulkhead forward). Some shelves and parts may be added by owners.

Hope this Helps!

Thanks for the info guys. I will have to think on this some more, because I am pretty/kinda sure that some of the pieces I removed were the of the same type and vintage as the bulkheads, ie that laminate stuff...uhm. I may have to test fit some of the pieces I think I have, At least two of the pieces are for sure after market - the ones that extend the v berth on the sides and a middle one to join them,,,but underneath those...? It is a small area nonetheless so not in the end, critical.

krantala,
Are you talking about the storage cabinets that appear in Sunbirds second photo, where you can see the fire extinguisher stored?
If so, I don't have a pic but I believe it is one laminate shelf with teak fiddle board. They are the same on both sides.
I did attach a photo taken by the PO from the bow pointing looking aft. It shows the middle piece and that the v berths did extend to the bulkhead wall. The middle is a cushion fastened to a plywood piece that fills that area.
Hope that helps.

I'm not sure you guys are talking about the same boat. From what I can see an Oday 25 and a Venture 25 are very different boats.

I could never cram all that in.

Well TC, at first Centerline thought he was talking about a Venture, then changed his mine. Sunbird thought it was about an O'day and I did too since he posted in the O'day Owners section.
Hope we'll all not chasing boats.

Yeah that's the area. For all replies so far, the boat is in fact an O'day and not a venture. Thanks for the pix, but if anyone has a close up of that area, I would still appreciate it.

Remembered to take some photos today. Hope they help you figure it out. All three are of the port side.
Looks like I got some cleaning to do, please ignore the mess.

The V berth extension piece is actually flat, camera angle makes it look angled.

Perfect. These are the ones that I needed and was pretty sure I had it figured out properly. I just think I was in such a state of mind taking everything apart that I thought there may have been more to it, but obviously not. The P/O probably did not add anything. Thank you very much for taking these for me. - Keijo
