Hi all,
We have found buying our first boat a bit more difficult than first thought. But we think this is Ok, as we hope we are learning from the experience. The deal with a 1974 Catalina27 has almost completely fell thru, they have left it as a project with too many things left to finish and the price of 5k is just too much.
We are now focussing on a 1975 Pearson26 that is complete, equipped and running great. This one has an OMC saildrive inboard gas engine which was installed 2 yrs. after the original purchase by the manufacturer.
The only obvious flaw is some spidering on the deck surface, which I'm hoping is really a cosmetic thing only?
What are your comments on the 75 Pearson26 and are there manuals available?
Look forward to your comments.
Thanks,
Ron

Still looking 26 to 30ish In my mind, for now
I assume you've made a decision by now. I'm looking at a 78 Pearson 26 OD that needs some TLC. These are generally solid boats but the two biggest issues are the rudder and the cast iron keel. I looked at some Ericsons with OMC Saildrive and researched them and never heard a good word from anyone about them.
