Is this a good boat?
Most of the vintage boats were over built Ive got a 75 pearson 26 that Ive owned for 10 years. Its fine but I maintain it religeously. Its not about the make so much as the condition
of the boat. There are certain repairs that would cost more to fix than the boat is worth.
Heres a small check list of things you can look at yourself
First Look over the general condition of the boat. Has it been neglected. Be suspicious
1 is the boat complete Mast Boom ,Sails rigging: cost about $3000 to replace
2. look at the keel bolts if they look rusty be suspicious, New keel bolts cost about $5000
If the boat passes this preliminary exam get someone that knows what they are doing to look at it Preferably a marine surveyor
good luck
