1975 Columbia 26T????

Hi,Does anyone out there know anything about 1975 Columbia 26T's? I am looking at picking one up but from the looks of the hull it would be a dog. The keel is really long but wide. Looks like it would point terrible and need a very stiff wind to get moving.Thanks,jroznos@tampabay.rr.com

I have a friend who has one. For a smallish boat, I thought that she performed quite well. There is a web page:http//ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/sailor570/ where the owner describes his Columbia 26. It won "boat of the year" at his yachtclub races in 2000.Can't always tell a book by its cover.

It's an Alan Payne design targeted at the trailer sailor market. The Columbia Owners Association web site has information on each model. It's the best source for Columbia related info, manuals etc. Yahoo also has a Columbia discussion forum.
