I've had my 2-27 cal since 2001 It's been a very satisfying boat. I was wondering I recently repowered her in 2000 with a yanmar 1-10gm diesel. Does anyone know what engine was originally in the boat. It had a 1981 yanmar 1gm 10 in it when I purchased it. Seems as if it's a bit underpowered but very dependable and stingy with fuel, When I sailed here down from Connecticut she ran on average of 12 hours per day at 2800 rpm and used 4 gal per day...nice...... Thanks Jerry

Farymann/Atomic Four

I can't tell for sure from the small size of your photo...but your boat sure looks more like a T/2 than a 2-27. The T/2 had essentially a flush foredeck all the way back past the mast and a very short cabin trunk terminating aft of the forward bulkhead. The 2-27 has a longer cabin trunk with it's mast stepped on the cabintop. As to the original engines, most had the Atomic Four, and Jenson installed the Farymann originally when the diesel option was purchased. Fair winds from a former Cal 27-T/2 owner.
