First Post, but I have already gained a lot from this forum, so thanks in advance for all the knowledge and experience here. We have recently taken in a Morgan 30, #307, up on Champlain in Vt. She will need a full refit over the next years. What we need most is a Centerboard and Mast Step. I am also looking for manufacturers recommendations on rigging tension. In the future I am, interested in locating the outboard from the transom to the lazarette. Has anyone made this work on the old gals?

Regards,
Dave

Welcome to the forum and congratulations on your new sailboat!!

Mast step - contact RigRite
Centerboard - do you have the existing one? If so custom make it or try to source from a sailboat salvage yard
Rigging tension - refer to your manual or do an internet search on "standing rigging tuning"
Relocating outboard from transom - please provide more information and photos

I found Foss Foam in Florida has a mold and can manufacture new boards for Morgan 25 and 30s.
The previous owner had conversations with Charlie Morgan who told him the boat was designed to have a motor in the lazarette. Ultimately, they powered it with the A4Gas. I have seen many conversion projects done by James Baldwin that build mounts in to accommodate newer, larger outboard types. This seems like the most reasonable and aesthetic solution for getting the Yamaha 9.9 off the transom mount, which is heinous and not very functional on a few different levels.
