no trailer
Hi Bill; I don't have a trailer, I get a local boat hauler to launch and retrieve my Tempest. I suppose if you expect to go different places in a single season a trailer is necessary, but here in Maine anyway, the cost of a retail trailer pays for a few seasons of 1 time pick up and delivery. Maybe you have a big enough tow vehical; I don't. Add that expense etc. and I wonder if it's worth it. I do have a friend who has a Cape Dory 25, about the same size, and he built his own trailer. He told me even that was a lot more expensive than the last time he built one. Happy hunting, and if you have the Tempest already, happy sailing. It's a great little boat that sails really well.
