Columbia 26' Dana Point
Ahoy, I am new to this site and am looking for fellow owners of this fine little vessel. She's a 1966 Columbia 26' and she is built like a little battleship. any information I could get about her would be much appreciated... Thanks all!!!

Here's a good place to start: http://www.columbia-yachts.com/specs.html

All you really need to do is google "columbia 26 sailboat" and you'll get lots of hits. There are a lot of them for sail, with pictures, and you can get some ideas how other owners have fixed theirs up.

Here's the owner's association website: http://www.columbia-yachts.com/

My slip neigbor has a Columbia 26 (classic) probably built in the early 60's http://www.columbia-yachts.com/c-26.html It's a nice, seaworthy little pocket cruiser.

Hey there,

I have a 1965 Columbia 26, it's hull # 180. Glad to see there's at least one other person out there that has the same little boat. You're right, they're like a tank as far as how heavily they seem to have been built. There's a site called boatbrochure.com where I was able to order copies of the original sales information and advertisements relating to the "classic" Columbia 26. A bit expensive, and mixed in with it was some stuff about the Mark II Columbia 26, but overall it was interesting to read, and will probably be a good source of technical info as I get more into restoring the boat. I'd suggest going there if you have a few bucks to spend and want to get your hands on more details about the boat. You're right, for some reason it's hard to find info on this little boat, not sure why as 799 were built so there's gotta be a lot of 'em out there.

The Columbia owners' site is also helpful; many of the people there are very knowledgeable and have years of experience, and at least one of them also has a C-26.

OK, congratulations on your boat!

B
