Hello,
I'm considering buying a 15' O'dey skif with a 60hp Mercury outboard.
The motor is a 2007 with approx. 20 hr on it. They want $5,600 for the boat.
Does anyone have any info that will help me decide if this is a good boat?
The skif is a 1987 model and from the pictures it looks like it's in good condition.

Thank you,

Jim

If it is an 1987 model, it isn't an O'DAY. O'Day never built powerboats (other than the 8' 7/11 dinghy). Are you sure this isn't a STARCRAFT? In the mid 1980's O'DAY and Starcraft were both owned by Lear-Siegler and the O'DAYs were built by a short-lived division called "Starcraft Sailboats" which was really no relation to the Starcraft Powerboats Division.

Marscot Plastics, the company that built the early O'DAYS for George O'Day in the 1950's DID build powerboats as well, but they were sold under the MARSCOT name.

I don't see anything in that picture that proves the boat is connected to O'DAY as in sailboats. You can't always trust what a seller tells you when you buy a boat. I still think the boat originally mentioned in this post is a STARCRAFT. If O'DAY had built a powerboat it would have certainly been advetised big at the time, and I never saw any ads or magazine reviews back then. I remember asking Rudy Nickerson a year or so ago about this and he told me that the boat wasn't an O'DAY no matter what an owner may have been told.

Maybe "ODEY" built powerboats? But not "O'DAY".
