Those brainiacs that claim to know about these

things tell us that global warming will be characterized by greater extremes in the weather. So watch out for summer.

A Better Term……

….would be “climate change” at this point anyway. Way up here, we had a drought that lasted most of the winter, and the actual cold weather didn’t show up till mid December. By April first, we had no snow, but on the fourth, we had a 20 hour blizzard that dumped more snow that we got all winter. There are ramifications. I’m sure everybody remembers how places east of the Great Lakes were getting record snow falls (up to eleven feet in places). See, longer, warmer fall weather, the lakes don’t freeze, winter weather systems pick up more moisture, so more “lake effect” snow later in the season. West of the lakes, there’s more dry weather, since they started measuring the lake level on Superior (the 1920’s) Superior is several feet lower than it’s ever been, and the water is getting warmer faster. Partly due to the warming trend but also because of pollution and faster runoff due to so many built up concrete covered arias. See, this makes the water less clear and sterile, darker water heats up faster and retains heat longer. It looks like the people east of the Great Lakes are going to have to get used to heavier snowfalls. An old’ish saying from here in the frozen north; A mediocre snowthrower is still better than a really good shovel. Ferg
