I own a 1975 Catalina 30 - Mark I with an Atomic 4, the engine ignition and gauge panel is mounted just outside the companionway, this boat came from the factory with a tiller. It now has a wheel and I am moveing the panel back by the wheel. The only problem has been finding a 15-20 foot long choke cable, I have tried everywhere I can think of, any suggestions?

Ken, have you checked Moyer Marine? They have two different lengths available, a 7 foot & a 20 foot. "Ken" in the parts department at Moyer is very knowledgeable...give them a ring.

How did your wheel conversion go? I personally enjoy my tiller.

I used a Yanmar diesel shut off cable when I move my panel. It's the same thing except the knob says "stop" on it. They make them in various lengths and I could purchase it locally.

Ken;

Get the 20' one from Moyer's. I moved the panel to the back port side and there was more than enough cable. I snaked it through the port locker under the stern galley drawers to the engine. If I recall I cut about 2 extra feet off.

Good luck
Chris
