Any advantages or disadvantages of using 148 hose on a sink drain? One disadvantage I can think of is that you can't see water flowing thru it, like with flexible PVC tubing.

I'm thinking of replacing a lot of the water and drain hoses in our new (to us) 2000 Catalina 310. I'll use the real good stuff (101/102) for the head to holding tank, but was thinking of 148 for much of the rest.

I like the Trident XHD hose for sink drains and bilge pump outlet hose. Easy to work with. Replaced many hoses over the past winter.

I replaced all our plumbing lines two years ago. Drinking water safe simple reinforced clear hose. Don't overthink this stuff.

Use the 101/102 on the pumpout and any overboard discharge line--ANY line that carries sewage--too. Trident 150--which is clear--is rated for sink drain lines.

Peggy, the Trident catalog says about 150 (and 162, the braided version): "NOT RECOMMENDED FOR BELOW WATERLINE THRU-HULL CONNECTIONS." 161 or 148 seem like better, but maybe overkill, choices.

I didn't go past "sink drains" on the Trident site...I shoulda clicked on "more info!" (And I get all over people for not getting all the info!)

148 is prob'ly your choice. Readily available and cheap.

I find this a pretty good place to start your research regardless of what the hose will be used for:
