Hi. Apparently I need a new prop. So says the diver who scraped the bottom of my H33.

Anyway, the Yanmar 2QM15 manual says that 14X10 is the max for a three blade prop. The way the motor runs so cool, it seems the max would be the way to go, but does anyone know if a 14" prop will fit on the H33? Do any of you run a 14X10 with the 2QM15 with your H33?

I would suggest that you take your information from a Prop Specialist. It depends on the type of prop you want (fixed, feathering, folding) and do you want two or three bladed.

Do you have a budget for a new prop. The cheapest is a used two bladed for about $80-120.

You may want to contact these guys and see if they have some suggestions for you too.

The original diameter on my H37C with the 2QM20 was 15". I don't think the clearances back there are much different between our boats. So a 14" diameter should be fine. But as Steve points out the pitch is everything and depends upon the kind of prop.

Got that info and prop already

As I said in the OP, the Yanmar manual has the dimensions and pitch recommendation, which is 14X10 max. The last prop specialist I called (Tacoma Propellor) didn't seem to know about the specific boat and went off a chart with HP and RPMs. They recommended similarly. I purchased a 3 blade 14" prop off ebay recently for $80. 2 days ago I was standing on the dock, looking at the prop and the clearance seemed very tight, so I figured I'd ask you guys

Thank you

Thank you for all the information. It still occurs to me that I could bypass all of it if there were an H33 owner with a 14" or larger prop working well on their boat. What am I missing? Are there many H33 owners in this forum? Do any of you know your prop size?
