135 or 150 Genoa on an H19?

Hello, Am considering a Genoa for this little boat for short handed convenience and light air performance. I know this site's chandlery sells a Doyle 135, but am wondering if anyone's gone bigger, and if so, where they placed the fairlead carts. Thanks in advance. CJV

My Guess

I might put on a RF 135, but bigger than that would be a waste of time. With the Roller furling you could furl the sail down to about 100 and still have a decent shape so I think this would work well up to about 15 knots. Then you would have to reef the main too. If you expect the wind is going to be over 15 then I'd stick with the 110 genoa. If you dont have roller furling and just need somthing better for light air performance cruising then I'd get and MPS or a nylon drifter of about 150%

Thanks for the insight. I spoke to the Hunter folks and their guidance was similar.

Frank is right on

I sold a 150 once against recommendations and the fellow was blown into never never land. Frank is very much correct on this one. Crazy dave
