Thanks for all the responses...

I didn't just stand there and let him break my panels. I didn't have a clue what he was about to do (good thing he wasn't there to show me how weak my thru hull fittings were). I confronted him 15 min after he flexed them about the problem. The panels are made by BP Solar and I am planing on sending them back to the factory. I will think twice about letting anyone board my boat again :-/

Thanks for the warning

I've had two 120 watt Kyocera panels in constant exposure for 8 years now. Their frame is made so there is no flex or twist when mounted on four points. I believe the panel maker must be at fault if yours did. Request a warranty replacement.

Just a thought

Are you sure they've been broken? If your batteries are already at full charge I doubt you'll see max current flow. Try disconnecting them from the bank and get a sunny day reading to see if you're getting an open voltage reading they're spec'ed for (probably 17-19 volts.) If that reading is okay I'd discharge the house bank so that they'll actually accept the current you're looking for and try for that amp reading again. Anyway, just a thought prior to turning your pit-bull attorney loose on the dude :)
