Official manual is underwhelming

I too have the original "manual" for my H-34. It includes every boat in the fleet, but only about 4 pages for each with only the most elementary things. I know these things aren't that sophisitcated, but they could discuss for example, tray grid, bilge drainage, mast wiring connections, winterization process, etc. For a 5 figure new boat price, this manual should have been embarrasing to Hunter compared to that supplied by their competitors and to the standard of post-sale support they want to be known for. ...Good thing there is www.hunterowners.com...

Photo Copy of Hunter Manual

The manual we received from Hunter about 2 months ago is a photo copy of a Hunter 34 Manual. I cannot tell if this was just a part of some other set of information but I can say that it only has information relating to the H34. For the readers that asked for a copy of some pages, I am sorry that I cannot just copy the manual and send it to you. I will describe the contents and you can decide if it may be worth the 20.00 Hunter charges for the copy. P1 Cover - Hunter 34 p2 Photo of boat p3 List of contents of the standard equipment for h34 p4 photo of boat (same as p2) p5 Specifications, length, width, weight ect p6 Interior layout p7 stern photo of boat p8 side photo of boat p9 Specifications and line drawings of side view and interior layout p10-13 Safe boating information p14 Yanmar quick reference list filters, ect p15&16 Engine to shaft alignment p17&18 Shaft&propeller info for multiple boats including h34 p19 General handling and operation A Diesel Starting and motoring p20 B Electrical System C Water System D Stove p21 E Toilet F Pumps G Docking H Anchoring p22 H34 Standing & Running Rigging Specifications p23 Sails & Rigging A. All things considered I thought this was a well spent 20 dollars. Buying the Yanmar parts and service manuals will set you back 150 or more for the two manuals.

John,thanks for clarification

The information that you provided has no relation to the Hunter "Boater Owners Manual" that I have. In fact the pages are not even numbered in my manual. An example of the information in my manual-"Stove Operation"-Follow the operating instruction supplied with the unit installed with your boat. I don't know if this more specific information developed in the last few years of the H34 production or what but it's a shame that it did not exist from the start. I don't want to be a pain but I would really appreciate if you could fax pages 15-16 on engine shaft alignment to toll free fax 888-992-8273 or email ron@ccvdinc.com. Once again thanks for the more specific info on what you received.

Title of your manual - where

John - where did you say you got your manual for $20? Was this from Hunter Marine. Can you give us the exact wording on the cover page so we can order it. Thanks - sounds worth the money.

Hunter 34

My wife ordered it directly from Hunter. She told them we have a 1985 H34. The cover has "Hunter 34" over the picture of the boat.

John,,,owners manual print quality?

After buying an 83' H34 this summer, I orderd a copy of the owners manual from Hunter. What I received looked much like something that was copied on a Zerox machine from the early 70's. The pic & graphic images are pretty-much worthless and the text is just legible. I was curious as to the quality of your copy. Thanks, Rusty,,,

Mostly readable

It is a copy of a copy of a copy. I agree the pictures are not much to look at, but then I know what the boat looks like. The copy of some of the brochures are not great. The text is readable for all the pages containing just text. The electrical diagram is a little tough to read. I enlarged mine 400% and then used a fine line marker to go over the drawing. I am in the middle of redoing the drawing on a CAD program so that I can have my own up to date drawing for the boat. All in all, I would spent the 20 again even given the quality of the copy.
