12 volt fridge

My 1998 Catalina 28 Mk ii that I just purchased and had trucked south from Maine has a 12 volt fridge system. I am unable to get it to work and can't seem to find where the compressor or fridge machinery is located. Any one have any ideas where I should look to figure out how to get it to work?

it could be gone from your boat ....but first follow the refrigerant lines for the box and see where they end up ...if you get to the end and don't see a compressor you don't have one on board and will have to purchase a new one

I am not sure what type of system it is. The seller told me it was installed by Catalina or the first owner when the boat was new.

I had a 28 MKII for many years. I also had a 1998 model year; they didn't come from the factory, even as an option, with refrigeration. There are not too many places the equipment could be. ( I know I struggled for along time before I could find a spot to mount it). Where have you looked for it? I installed mine in the port side lazerette,

It could be an intigrated unit like a dometic or something?
