I was replacing a delay relay for the shower sump pump (separate thread) when I saw this outlet; to upper right in picture below. The lazarette has a shelf and I could see putting an outlet above the shelf, but this is below the shelf. Really out of the way: Over three years before I noticed it. It has power. What would that be good for?

That is pretty tucked away. I can't think of anything that I've ever really wanted to power in a spot like that. Maybe a dive tank compressor or something?

I have a 110 outlet in my lazzarette… a little more reachable than yours though. I plug an extension cord in there when working with any power tools in the cockpit. Or maybe plug a trouble light if doing any work deep in the lazzarette and you need some good light.

i am adding a rudder sensor to my O’Day 322 right now, and a nice bright light is nice to have back in the depths of my lazzarette.

Cheers,

Greg

Maybe at one time there was a water heater in the location.

No, I am the first owner and there was not a water heater installed there.

I finally pulled out the wiring diagrams for the boat. This outlet is not shown. I guess someone in Marion had an extra outlet and installed it....

I ran an xtension cord from the galley to the lazzarette. Come in handy when I need power tools in the cockpit and i can
run an air dryer in the lazzarette during winter. Being the is an extension cord, fused of course, when I don’t need it it rolls up in a space on the top shelf.

Has any one has any issues with the gas cylinder arm that helps raise the engine compartment access for? This gas cylinder is only on one side of the access door, not terribly heavy but the cylinder keeps the door open. Thanks

I have not had any problem with mine. Someone in a thread a little while back was also looking to replace theirs though. You might want to try starting a new thread on that topic to keep it separate from the original post here.
