103/104 with kids

How young are the kids and how far are you willing to travel?

Hi. They're 7 and 5 yo boys. We travel and camp and overnight frequently. I'm in Atlanta but could go to the SE coasts or perhaps Caribbean.

Alternatively, are there any good weekend courses?

As a 103/104 instructor, I'd say no to the kids unless you're getting a private lesson (you and the family are the only people aboard other than the instructor) due to the possible impact on other students on board. We would also have a clear and frank discussion about safety and time/attention paid to the course material, both learning and practicing, vs. taking care of 5 and 7 yo boys, especially if they have issues having had two sons, I think I can speak from experience.

These two courses cover a lot of material and 5 days is a minimum, 6 or 7 days preferred, not a weekend...

I am seriously looking at http://www.ecsailing.com/ they are more expensive, but you won't be on the boat with more than one other person or family.

Sounds like it may be best just to take the regular course wo kids. Even the private course would be tough if it's really that much time involved. Thanks!
