1-5/8" anything...

Ok, just bought a 1986 C36. This website is very much appreciated. It's been a huge asset; do thank you all very much for the guidance and information.

I need to replace the exhaust hose out to the transom from the brand new 1-5/8" (1.63") inlet/outlet lift muffler.

The problem is there are no fittings of any kind that are 1-5/8". PERIOD.

And I just found out that the through-hull exhaust fitting is 1.5" as opposed to 1.63"!

Darn it! Had I known it was 1.5", I would have gotten the lift muffler in 1.5" version and transitioned away from the 1.63" hose.

Does anyone know of any threaded elbows or barbed fittings in the 1.63" size?

1.5", 1.75", and 2" are super common, but not the 1.63".

Any help is much appreciated.

IIRC, our C34 and C36 muffler inlets and outlets are 1 5/8". You may not have done anything wrong here.

I suggest you ask at the www.c36ia.org "Forum" - I'm sure they'd know.

Thanks for the reply.

I never did find a way to transition to 1.5".

But I did but a new exhaust tailpiece from Catalina Direct in the 1-5/8".

Now to hook it up!
