On a recent rough docking, my first mate caused us to hit the dock, and the little platform for the bow light snapped off. Short of soldering it back on, any ideas on how to reconnect it? What about other ways of mounting the bow light? The 25.5 has a U-shaped bow rail, and the platform is at the bottom-most point of the U.

Bow light or forward running lights?

your bow light is up on the mast. I would think this would be the least of your problems if you broke it while docking. ;-) Does a 25.5 even have a bow light? you might try a SS hose clamp or some of those zip ties.

You're right ...

... it is the platform for the forward running lights, not the bow light. We tried an epoxy with small bungee cords, but the cords won't stay on, and the epoxy didn't hold. Noticed you're in Bodkin Creek. We're at Oak Harbor Marina in Rock Creek. We're practically neighbors.

stepping your mast?

hey Robert... do you step your mast regularly, or do you keep your 25.5 in the water at the dock? The reason I ask is: If you do notstep your mast into the cradle on the bowrail, then replace the light... purchase an Aquasignal series 25 navigation light and rail mount for about $30.00 and be done with the mounting plate; OR, you can drill out the plate, attach a 1" stainless steel piece of angle to it with screws, and then drill and screw the plate back onto the rail. Short of having it welded back on ($75 minimum) those are your best options... I own a fabrication shop in St. Augustine and am familiar with your problem as I have alot of people wandering into my shop with the same problems on their bowrails. If it were me, (and I have been there...) I would replace the light. Good Luck!

Bow Light

Robert, For the bi-color light on the pulpit--Aqua Signal makes a bracket they call a deck bracket #25902-1. It is "L"-shaped. If you turn it over it can be fastened to the "U" in the pulpit by drilling a hole and tapping or by thru-bolting it. It is made to mount the Series 25 lights. Dave
