Wondering if you've already been there as it is now Jan. In any case.
The ramp is A+. We usually make a four day trip of it. We stay the first and last night on the park moorings in Largo sound and the others on reef moorings that afford protection from the open ocean. We snorkel the reefs and prefer to go when its a little warmer. A close friend with a MacGregor 25 goes in the winter and just takes his wet suit.
The reefs provide some protection in the Hawk channel when the ocean kicks up a bit.
I would not go without a chart. I would recomend a GPS (preferably with a built in chart) and a depth sounder would be a big plus.
