Replace/Upgrade/Modernize cockpit teak?

Hi there!

I don't know if this is sacrilege, but I saw the combing compartment plastic trim upgrade and stainless handrail upgrades and started to wonder if anyone has seen any other products like this that can upgrade the traditional Catalina 30 cockpit and companionway teak to a more modernized (and zero maintenance look!)? Has anyone ever just removed the companionway trim altogether?

I might be crazy, but it doesn't *seem* particularly crazy at the moment.

You might try Corian. All of the cockpit trim in my boat was replaced with Corian before I bought it. The trim looks good and requires no maintenance.
