Originally Optimas were a super great battery. Somewhere along the way the company was sold, and the new owners cheapened them. They were so good starting out and so many first time buyers were so sold on them they built a very good reputation quickly and the reputation was hard to kill. But the batteries they sell today, are not the same quality as the originals. Of the three tops, since changing hands the red tops have been the worst.
