Hunter 146 Candlewood Lake
Hello Dave,
I purchased a 10 year old 146 last week which I am in the process of repairing.
The floor has a few 3"-5 " cracks. I read your responses regarding using Gorrilla glue and wheighing down the deck for making the bond. Would 3M 4200 be a better alternative for bonding the skin to the deck?
Thanks you

Rusty,

I believe the reason Dave recommended gorilla glue is because it expands 3x it size and dries quickly. 4200 is great as a sealant to keep water out (I.e fittings, brackets near the water line such as a rudder bracket.), it also needs 24 hrs to fully cure.

I'll be pulling my boat out in about 2 weeks and be going the gorilla glue route. At the same time I'll be repairing my rudder bracket issue following Dave's advice cutting a 3" hole and reinforcing with a metal backing plate. I'll try and update pictures as I complete the project.
