So they cleaned the prop and the owner and broker did a test run today, so as not to run me down there for a repeat of last week. Here is the info they sent me. We are doing a confirmation sea trail on Saturday, but this is more like it.

Engine Parameters
- Temperature at idle - 100-110 degrees
- Speed at 2800 rpms (outbound against tide) = 6.2/6.3
- Temp at 2800 rpms = 160 degrees
- Max rpms = 3150-3200rpms
- Speed at 3150/3200 rpms = 6.6/6.7

- Speed at 2700 rpm (in bound with tide) = 6.4
- Temperature at 2700 rpm = 160+ (less than 170)
- Speed at 3150/3200 rpm = 6.8/6.9

Sounds perfect to me. Now the tough question: keep the name or rename?

As they say in sporting circles ... "Nice follow thru!"

This is good news regarding speed. More of what is expected from this boat.

Have you surveyor verify that the temp sensor is the one made for the engine and that the opening temp range of the sensor is as prescribed by the manufacture. Especially if you look at the engine and it looks "New".
Examine the engine compartment for all the right pieces in the right places. Engine temps can be misleading. While it appears that the problem has been solved by the cleaning of the hull and the prop, it would be good to "know" the solution was the reason for the over heating.

May your new boat keep you safe and bring you much enjoyment.
