Did it! It's oiled and hanging to dry. 18" wide, 6" deep, full 1" thickness mahogany deck board. I cut grooves 1" apart, and drilled four 1/2" holes, countersunk on top. Looking for a piece of fabric or leather to cushion the boat side. Will use 7/16" yacht braid (on hand) and two big boat snaps to suspend and secure.
BTW, camera distortion: those sides are all 90º.
