bow navigation running light = out

Found the problem. It was the connection between the bow light and the main circuit. I found an inspection port in the anchor locker through which I could touch the connection. When I wiggled it the light came on and off. Unfortunately I could not reach the connection well enough to repair it. I was able to create a new connection elsewhere on the same circuit, though, and cut and insulated the wires to the old connection. The bow light now works. Onward to the non-working mast lights!

Well done. Mast lights may be a bit more tricky... You have a connection
  1. on the mast i.e mast head where the light is.
  2. A connection at the base of the mast. Often the wires are connected inside the base of the mast at the deck for a deck step mast or near the keel for a mast that goes thru the deck. Some have plates on the side of the mast that gives you access to separate the connections so that the mast can be removed from the boat.
  3. You have connections at the fuse / circuit breaker board.
Start where the most water might have corroded the connections and work backwards from there. Often it is the bulb or the connections in the fixture that have chafed or corroded.
Good luck.

Thanks! This info will help...I will start with the bulbs and work from there.
