That red switch is the batterys master switch. That switch provides power to the DC breaker panel.

Ok but the original Catalina panel has a toggle master switch. Why do you need this huge one?

I am replacing the original panel all together.
The original panel is not waterproof and is down by the floor. I'm also adding circuits.
The original panel uses fuses, the new panel uses breakers. That switch is placed there because it's waterproof, and it's easy to find in the dark.
