We are considering installing a bimini on our 272. the issue is how effective it will be with the boom so low to the cockpit...I've seen several bimini's that look more like horse carriage covers and want it to be as effective as possible. We need to reduce the sun on our bodies as much as possible. Also who would be a good person to go to to put it together so I can install, and what would be a good cost to budget? Pat:)

The best place to look is someone who makes biminis close to you so that they can measure your boat. Otherwise Island Nautical used to be a great place to go. There is another I think called the Canvas Company who makes them up for customers all over the place. This site might offer them too.

We have a canvas guru that frequents our marina at various times thru the summer. He sets up shop in the parking lot with an enclosed trailer. I was quoted 1200-1500 for our hunter 28.5 using stainless and sunbrella. Online listings for one size fits all doesn't excite me.
