Are you planning a long cruise this summer? Adding some significant equipment or making a major upgrade? Gearing up to buy a another boat? Or maybe getting ready to trailer your craft to Havasu next month?

Tell us what's beginning to take shape for your 2013 sailing!

I want to sail more, some over night trips. . .living aboard would be top of the list, but not there yet ;)

Over all, less working on the boat and more using it. . .even if it is to just spend the weekend at the dock and do NOTHING :D

We plan on using the boat more this year. It is running perfect, and will have had a fresh bottom paint job.
We realize how lucky we are, to own a boat, in a beautiful part of the world.
It sucks having it tied to the dock.

new for 2013 is my upgrade from an O'Day20 to a Helms25. Once I have all of my shake down cruises and equipment run downs, will be heading north to Lake Michigan for some of the cruises around the Chicago area. Then returning back to my home waters for some local adventures with the grandkids. They've been out on the O'Day and really love being on the water. With any luck, I may be looking at some of the new sailors out there. One can only hope...Cannot wait til the early spring thaw so I can begin another wonderful season with the wind blowing thru my scalp, since I am bald. Tic toc tic toc....time to prepare...can't wait. See you'll on the water....

I plan to get out on some of the great lakes that surround me. I would love to get up to the north channel. Get that spinnaker thing up in the air too.
It's looking good!

The Admiral and I were just discussing this morning the possibility of heading south on the ICW next season and popping over to the Bahamas, at least to Bimini. We'd probably put the boat on the hard at some point, in Florida, and take her back back north the following season. In any case, we can't wait to move back aboard!

Run topping lift and Cunningham line to cockpit, add spare halyard to aft mast head and better out-haul system. Spend more days cruising and overnights on boat.

Bahamas Bound- I'm envious! That's my goal too, but probably not this year. If things work out, I would like to take a leave of absence, get my boat to the east coast, then sail around Florida, and take it up the Tennessee River to Chattanooga. This may be a late 2013/early 2014 start.

Erie and the San Juans

We'll spend our usual 25 nights cruising the Islands and the west end of Lake Erie on Lady Lillie.

Then we head west on the Lewis and Clark trail. When we reach the West Coast, we will head north to sail a Catalina 30 from Anacortes Yacht Charter in the San Juans, and over to Victoria.

While we average getting out about twice a week during the May - October season we have are sights set on going beyond the Milwaukee skyline. While there is a lot of maintenance non of it keeps us off the water. Port Washington and possibly a little further north is a priority while Door County is in the longer range thought plan as is the eastern shore of Michigan.
