I have been looking for a first sailboat and recently came across a 7.3 in very good condition. One question I had refers to the head which appears to be a port-pottie. I would prefer something with holding tank and pump out capability. Is that something anyone has retrofitted? Am I correct in thinking the porta-pottie is not something that can be pumped out? Thanks...

Why not replace it with an msd type of porta potty? That would be simplest and cheapest.Lots of people reading but no response?

My 1982 7.3 came originally hooked up so the small head (essentially a ports potti) had a pump out fitting and vent.
I also have a port-a-potty style an it to is hooked to a pump out and vent. You could install a holding tank in the first storage compartment under the V-birth.
I put a Natures Head composting toilet into my 9.2A and couldn't be more happy with it. For years we had a porta potti.
I also replaced the porta potty in my O'day 26 with a natures head and I like it, but my wife LOVES it. It is like having a real toilet. Plus no pump out. And so far after one season, no smells.
I am stalking your forum because I'm interested in the S2 9.2 center cockpit that is for sell in Maine, "Sea kissed". I hope you folks don't mind.

I too bought a Natures Head for my S2 8.0c. I will be installing it next month or so. The people at Natures Head were great people to work with.
