Modify Bulkhead between Nav station and Main Salon

I have a 1983 9.2A and am considering some improvements. One of which would be to 'cut' the separating bulkhead between the small nav station/quarter berth and the main salon. I would cut it and make it flush with the existing cushions of teh main salon and qtr berth. This would open the area up considerably and allow for a Taller person to bunk there.

Any thoughts? I don't think that cutting the bulkhead down (not removing) would cause any structural issues.

that would be doable and if yours is like mine it shouldnt be a problem...i have replaced all the main bulk heads in my boat and am making the one by the gally taller to accomidate a built in refer and doing away with the starboard settee....making a storeage locker out of the rest and also a hvac cabinet as i didnt want to give up the hanging lockers up by the head...

The Nav table will need to be modified as it rests near the top of that bullhead...
