Just wondering (and I know Phil has the answer to this question) what are the green spots under the posters name....

When I wand over them I get comments such as "So and So hasn't generated and comments. He must be new around here" or "So & So is a good guy". What are these and who makes these comments?

I've wondered this as well. I'll look at mine on occasion just to see if it hasn't changed to, "Absolute nut. Disregard everything he says".

Could be wrong but I believe green means the person is online, red means they're offline

This is an old plugin we have for "reputation." If you think a fellow poster is a credit to the forum, click the scales under his/her name. Or, you can also downgrade the user's reputation.

The green dot means positive reputation, negative is red. Usually by the time someone has turned red around here, they're gone. But I did see a red one just the other day.

Thanks Phil I knew you would have the answer....another "wonder" taken care of. I will have to try it. Thanks.

When you click on the scales can you put in a comment or does it just register it someplace. I tried and nothing really happened.

Thanks All but I see you changes. Maybe my rep is so bad it will take lots of "clicks" to bring it up...:D

Oh, I'm sure we're keeping them in some database table somewhere but they don't appear anywhere that I know of. :)

Oh I just clicked on the scales and it says I have "5 reputation points". Not certain if that is good or bad but at least I have a reputation.... LOL :dance: The "green spot" still says the same thing so I guess it takes more than five to change it.

Well Nodak, like most things, I've never really paid any attention to that other stuff, but when I tried to click on the scales, it said I have 15 points. Which seems to tell me several things. It takes more than 15 to get another square, (kinda reminds me of some video game, and I don't know why, I've never actually played one), and that there are at least 15 other nuts out there that thinks that I have some modicum of credibility. However there could also be more, considering that clicking the "report user" thingy probably eats up some points. My mind is racing now. Phil, we need more statistics, like who likes us, and who does not; sorta like fecebook. And then when we see who turned us in, we could retaliate in kind. The possibilities are endless..

Chris was that a fruedian slip??? "Fecebook"??? Apt I have to say! I don't know who but since I asked the question I have gotten a few more points because it now says I am a "pretty good guy". I think they must be feeling sorry for me. :)

No sir, it was spelled correctly.
Shoot, I clicked on it too. We're going to have you elevated to a position of HIGH esteem, sir. Maybe even, "Grand Supreme Dictator" or something.

(Phil's gonna hate us)..
