Hoping everything will be OK for all up North and for all my family in LI,NY too,we are getting 25-30 kts of gusting wind here in SW Florida and may wait another day or so leaving on our 3 week cruise along west Florida.

Of course I did that during Irene & Lee. And got hit by a Lightning.

AC at 9:00 am

I went to Trinity this am just on the other side of high tide. Wind at 30 knots NE tide high but not extreme. Still three more cycles of tide to go till this hopefully passes by. Coast Guard AC raised Storm Flag.
Re adjusted a few lines after looking at boat action and wind direction on boat. Have all seacocks closed. I am behind two seawalls so I have some
water action buffer - wind still cranks. Can't due much else. The Absecon Inlet is rockin. High tide washed up to the edge of sand dunes on the beach.
I guess the recent beach rebuilding work will be washed out to sea come wednesday(10 million) .
Due to evacuation of islands, access to boat will be a few days out.

Well, everybody stay dry, you sailors on the Chesapeke look like you will get quite a tidal push up the bay.

Here on the lower coast of N.C., it just drifted on by. But you can see where it went far offshore from us. The buoy hits say it is rocking out there though.

Latest update had landfall in AC and the track goes right through my house. Was originally predicted to be TS upon landfall but now showing as Cat 1 until it is inland.

I'll be working for the duration so any updates from this end will be sporadic. Good luck all! Stay safe!

Thanks to Phil and everyone else. Carina is stripped and sitting at a mooring while we ride out the storm on land. We are not forecast to be the hardest hit but 40 steady gusting to 60 is nothing to laugh about. Hopefully the folks who get a direct hit stay safe. My entire family lives in the path of the storm.

Storm had just passed here (Norfolk), but this morning's high tide brought significent flooding.

Just like Bad Ob...

At the top of the Bay, all sails and canvas stripped off, double and some triple dock lines. Taped the companionway hatch and boards, then covered it with a heavy canvas panel. Now it's just sit and fret!

Got a brand new headsail delivered 6 PM Friday. Unrolled it and bagged it 10 AM Saturday -- sure did look nice filled with a slight breeze before it was taken down though!

Boat was to go on the hard next week for the winter--am hoping there will be something left to haul...

My boat is on poppits in the parking lot of the marina in Branford, Conn. The mast is off and lashed down to some sawhorses along with several others. With the predicted storm surge (10 ft+), the docks could lift off their pilings and come into the lot. Also, the surge may very well lift the boats right off their poppits, especially the smaller boats like mine that are on the lower poppits.

As much as I love sailing, its only a boat; it can be replaced. Stay safe everyone.
