We have just aquired a 1980 Heritage West Indies 38 with a Perkins 4-108. boat is on the hard and due to hull work we cannot run the engine. How can I winterize the raw water side? I do appreciate your help. Rick

*Remove impeller
*Re-install cover plate
*Disconnect RW outlet hose where it injects to exhaust elbow
*Place RW outlet hose from exhaust elbow into bucket
*Disconnect hose from seacock and attach a garden hose male adapter
*Use a "Silver King" brass pump to pump AF through the engine and into the other bucket from a seperate 5 GAL bucket.
*Drain aqualift muffler
Note: The Silver King pump has LOTS of power and is the only pump I have really found suitable for this.. This is a life long pump that can be used for many other uses. Very handy and is specifically designed to slide over a 5 GAL bucket and you then stand on the foot brace while you pump...

Yes, but they cost a lot less through a plumbing supply house. They are most often used to pump antifreeze into a hydronic heating system. Mine is about 25 years old and still works like new. Occasionally I have to lube the pump seal but that's it...
Not with the impeller removed. You just need enough oomph to move the water through the system..
