Barrile, that is an "endless" line and since it goes through the clutch it will need to be spliced while on the boat. I have left instructions and a video on how to do that on this forum. However, having said that I have had discussions with one owner that just ran the line thru the clutch and did not splice it. A new line is my project for the winter. I will have to practice the splice during the winter and be ready to do it in spring.

Barrile, we replaced the furling on our 356 this spring. We bought a piece of line from West Marine. As the line goes through a clutch we had a rigger came by the boat and he did an end to end splice on the line. I tried doing it myself but did not have much success. I normally do splices on our double braid lines for loops in dock lines and halyards. He also stitched the splice well, I think they have tendency to have the inner core move after some use. So far so good.....
good luck, Bob

The splice is not difficult. I assume you have a Furlex and they provide instructions on how to splice the line. It is much easier than the Samson end to end and the result has a smaller line bulge which goes through the drum easily. I have it on another computer and can send it to you, or you can contact Selden (Lawton Connelly lc@seldenus.com) is one of the guys there who can also send you the instructions.
