Dick,

the O'Day 26 is essentially an updated O'Day 25. The swing centerboard line tracks the same. so any diagrams you find in the archives maintained by Capt Herring, your host on this site will apply.

Since you mentioned leak, I recommend trying to repair issue out of water.

There is nothing involved beyond the skills of an ordinary guy.

There is a turning block in the trunk affixed to the top. It is attached by two thru bolts to the tubing that goes to the pull in the cockpit.

I suggest that since you mention the word leak, you need to investigate replacing tubing from the thru hull to the tube going back and up. That would have to be done out of water since it is below water line.

Good luck and fair zephyrs,

Ed K

The O'Boy 25 has a pin that passes through the hole in the centerboard or swing keel that is kept in place with two wedges, each on each side of the centerboard trunk. There is a plate (as I recall) that holds these wedges in place. Unbolt the plate and the wedges fall out along with the pin and the centerboard. Pretty simple, actually. Most likely the rope is jammed between the centerboard and the wall of the centerboard. Can't tell you what the leak is about. You have to stick your nose around to find the problem. Good luck.
