Annapolis Sailboat Show Gathering Oct 5th

Hi All,

Jaye of WingnWing over on Sailnet asked that I post this here for any sailing "forumites" interested in attending.

"This year we're hoping to combine the annual Annapolis Boat Show Sailnet Gathering with the Women Who Sail gathering. Friday, Oct 5 after the Boat Show closes at 7 PM! Since quite a few folks are members of both sites, it makes sense to combine the gatherings. (Besides, I've never yet been to a party where people complained there were just too many interesting folks in attendance!)

Where?:

Port Annapolis Marina, at 7:00 PM Friday, Oct 5th on the deck just south of the big gray-and-white building by the pool. Accessible by water taxi, or dinghy dock just left of the travelift, or plenty of parking for those coming by car.

Bring some good sea stories (or boat show stories) and whatever you're drinking and we'll all chip in for pizza."

I plan on being there and would love to put some names to faces and have a few drinks...

I live across Back Creek from Port Annapolis. Are you meaning the deck connected to the pool/cafe (Gr&Wt) building, or the pavillion located in another part of the marina. The "deck" at the pool holds 6 picnic tables. There is another deck at the bathouse, not much bigger, but it looks over the creek.

Sounds like a good time - I'm Ron's slip neighbor so also just across the ceek. Will be working the Show, so will be late - come by Passport Yatchts :)

When at the show I will try to remember to wear some of my shirts with the company logo. If you see this logo on a shirt stop me and say hi! I also often wear my faded red ABYC hat...

Answer:

As you drive into the marina, the gray-and-white pool/cafe is directly in front of you. The deck we've been meeting on is behind and to the left of this building as you face the water.

Long range forecast for Friday night is clear and not too cold. Looking forward to seeing everyone then!!

Well, that was interesting.... I was returning some canvas work I had done to Port Annapolis, so checked on "the deck". In all the time I've been at that cafe and in the upstairs lounge and worked on the parade of light boat right at the dock, I'd never seen "the deck". It's like an oasis. No doubt it will be easy to find come Friday night.

I'm here and glad to connect for lunch - suggest 11:30 at Davis' - corner of 4th and Chester in Eastport. 3014667465 if you want to connect.
Also, a gathering at JWorld at 4-6pm today to present plans for next year's DelMarVa circumnav anyone inteerested is welcome........
