Hi all, I've been looking at O'day Mariners for a while and have just started considering the O'day 20. I like the large cockpit, super shallow draft and better performance of the Mariner but I also like the 20 because it seems more substantial and there are more near me for sale in the Midwest.
The plan is to typically sail with 2 or 3 adults and 2 or 3 kids. We plan on trailering the boat and using it mainly as a daysailer but like having a cabin as a place for the kids to get out of the sun, play, rest, etc...
Has anyone sailed both these boats?
Thanks everyone!

I have owned a O'day 22 and a O'day 20 and have sailied a Mariner. Id go with the 20 it is really similar to the 22 and really fun to sail. The shoal draft makes it so you have alot of side drift when sailing up wind but when i was ever in a hurry to go somewhere id just motor sail if it was right off my nose. you would be alot more cozy on the 20 .:)
