Does any one know the exact dimensions of the front hatch opening for an H26? Trying to replace the glass and need to bring something that will cover the opening while I replace the hatch cover. Also, what is the thickness of the plexiglass? Thanks

Bomar will not sell the lens only. YOu will need to go to a marine yard to see if they have a large enough piece to fit the frame. I would suggest 3/8 thickness or better. If a plastic frame, clean all the surfaces, make sure the frame fits and have cloth and super gel glue which to glue the lexan to the frame. The gel gives you time which to place and set the lens in place. Make sure you have a cover underneath to catch any glue that falls down. Add weight around the edges on top of a cover so not to scratch the lens and allow to dry overnight. Then apply black 100% architecual grade silicon in the gap between the lens and frame and again allow overnight to dry.
You might inquire with a glass shop as to where you can get lexan of course smoked style and not clear. The reason is a sheet of lexan 4 X 8 is very expensive.

Dave , thanks for the quick response. Haven't talked to you in awhile. I found a glass dealer that will cut lexan to size. He will also drill holes in it for me. will make sure it's smoked not clear. Do you happen to know the dimensions of the hatch opening itself?
DAve et al, forgot to say that this is the pop up hatch piece not the permanent bedded plexiglass. Still need the dimensions for that pop up opening. Thanks
Paulh1, please keep us informed on this project. Hunter quoted about $600 for a replacement for me a couple of years ago. Sorry, but I'm not near my boat to get the thickness. This is a frameless curved piece. I don't know if this helps, but the side port lens is 3/8" (0.375) thick. BrianW
Brian, they've(Hunter ) told me that it IS a curved piece. They didn't know if a flat piece would work.I suppose i could get a flat piece and try it and see if it works. If not it's $350 bucks for the replacement
A local glass company told me they could curve the Lexan IF my damaged hatch was intact enough for them to use as a pattern. Was it Hunter that quoted you $350? That price just may be worth it to not have to baby sit a local glass company.... any worry about it actually fitting correctly. BrianW

Follow up on the H26 hatch. Well, ,I got the dimensions of the hatch. Unfortunately the piece is slightly curved. The gasket that it sits on in the frame is also slightly curved. Don't know if a flat piece would work so I ended up ordering the hatch replacement from this site. Mucho dinero!!!!
Brian, yes it's the moveable hatch. $375 from this site. Part # H-1008004. Takes 3-4 weeks for delivery.I'm going to take it to a glass place and have them drill ALL the holes using the old glass as a template. I have a Nicro vent in that windshield. Will have them drill all the mounting holes. Worth the extra money rather than me try it and crack it again.
Paulh1, do you think the Nicro vent had anything to do with your hatch breakage? I have the same setup on my H26, along with a cracked hatch. I suspect a guest accidentally stepped on my vent while on the deck. When I replace mine, I'm debating about whether or not to reinstall the vent on the hatch. BrianW
Brian, it's possible that drilling the extra holes to secure it might weaken the glass but I don't think so. My cracking was due to using dull drill bits with the wrong speed drill.
