Has anyone had to replace a bow pulpit on a 1989 25? If so, how did you access the backing plates in the v-birth. A replacement from Catalina Direct will cost almost $1,000 including packing and shipping to Florida. Wow! Plus, boat yard installation will add substantially to that. Any tips?

The first think I'd do is price check with Catalina Yachts parts dept. (factory) There could be a substantial savings since the factory is in Florida.

Catalina Yachts • 21200 Victory Boulevard • Woodland Hills, California 91367 • Phone 818 884-7700
Catalina Yachts Florida • 7200 Bryan Dairy Rd • Largo, FL 33777 • Phone 727-544-6681

When you make the parts call, ask the customer service rep about your access concerns.

On my C27, the bolts in the forepeak can be accessed through a panel in the v-berth . If that's not the case on your 25.... try removing the bolts from the topside... they could be tapped into an imbedded plate. But... I'd ask catalina yachts first anyway.
