cockpit light

Cant find replacement bulb for the cockpit light attached to the front of the pedestal steering column on my 373. West marine couldn't help. The bulb has a small wire at each end that attaches to the holder. If any one knows who the bulb manfacturer is and wher to get a replacement please let me know.

Look in the Sears auto store, where i found mine, or maybe Pep Boys. Those bulbs are odd ones. I went ahead and got an Festoon LED to replace the helm bulb. You'd have to bend the contacts, but it was a good improvement.

Replace the entire fixture, it is an energy hog incandescent. An identical LED replacement is available from the OEM - Barnegat Light marine products:

They even have a great two-way red/white lamp. Exact same configuration, the screws even go in the same holes!

Looks like the red/white LED version requires the replacement 2-way switch vice the factory switch we have all have.

The R/W LED requires the replacement of the binnacle switch with a two-way switch. I used a exterior-rated Blue Sea switch. One side powers the white lamp, the other side powers the red. The LED is actually brighter than the incandescent.
