Ok all i have yet another issue that has arose with my 72 o day 22, today after about 5 hrs of sailing i noticed that my cabin sole where my compression post under the mast sits is starting to depress and crack a little, how do i fix this? and how entailed is it??

Post a couple pictures of this area and I may be able to come up with a solution. For instance, we had a guy with the same problem on an O'Day 222 and I told him to remove the galley cabinet and cut a square hole in the sole plate in the area inside the cabinet behind the door so that he could gain access to the area under the compression post.
I'm not all that familiar with the O'Day 22 interior and I'd have to see it first.
The guy was able to cut the hole and make a cover for it later when he finished doing his repairs. The cover wasn't visible because it was inside the cabinet and he was still able to use the cabinet for storage.

will do i wont be on the boat again untill friday. The more i thought about it too i tightend some of the new stansions before that day of sailing so that might have somthing to do with it but i just snuged them up not crazy tight but non the less it needs to be fixed.
tightening a stantion should not affect the mast compression post...
We were sailing on a Catalina 30 (racing in 30 knot winds) and the cabin top cracked side to side and when the starting checking, the compression post was sitting on a block of wood in the bilge below the cabin floor and the wood block was full of water and so wet, it was compressed by the downward pressure of the mast....that's the way they use to build them I think...Pc
