if you want the board to stay up inside its home then don't paint and after a year the barnacles will have built up so much you'll need a crow bar to get it down.....when I had my boat surveyed and it was up in the slings I watched the yard men break their balls getting that board down......lucky for me they cleaned,painted and replaced the cable at the PO expense
1954 wood 16'....Store indoors and covered during the week. Unless you are using it. Keep it clean,well varnished and put it to bed and tuck it in after sailing it....This way it will last another 58 years.
i did with mine, i used aquagard, it is environmentally friendly, and is good out of the water for 12 month, so far no growth, the boat is keep in salt water all summer, and this paint dry quickly and apply well.
