The good news is I finally got the Luger 30 home from Newhall. I took surface streets because the tires are old. I got a flat about a half a block from a tire store. He hooked me up with two good used tires for $60.
The bad news is when I got to the PO's house where the boat was stored I found out that someone stolen the mast and all of the rigging. The he felt bad about it and did not charge me for the years storage. He is going to check with his homeowners insurance to see if it is covered. I will need to put together a list of the items and prices.
The rigging mast and hardware all looked new. I'm sure someone took it for the aluminum. Since the boat wasn't his I'm not sure they will cover it.
The mast I believe was from Dwyers. It was 34' long that and everything else that goes with it isn't going to be cheap.
If you hear of a 34 ft mast being sold cheap please let me know. If it's mine I'll be happy to buy it back from him right after I shoot him.
I got it situated in the drive and it fits quite well. I gave it a quick pressure was and wipe down before the Admiral got home.
I had a chance to look around and cleanup a little inside. I has a lot more room than the C27. I like the dinette layout. I'll get up tomorrow morning an give it a good washing and vacuum the inside. I was amazed the the bilge was dry as a bone, especially after the really wet winter they had in Santa Clarita.
I was looking at the toilet. It is a Thetford Electromatic Model 80. There is no holding tank but there is an electric purifier. None of this is hooked up but the parts are all there. I looks like the toilet holds 3 gallons of water and recycles it until it is evacuated, kind of like th old airline toilets. I think I can run it to a pump out fitting. More stuff to look up.
I'll work on it tomorrow until it gets too hot, then I'm going down to the marina. They are having Old Fashion Day at Chase Park. They'll have a lot of old cars and old boats, it should be fun. Then go for an afternoon sail.
