Hull Cracks

Hunter 25.5 Catskill
1985 Hunter 25.5 on a cradle, wanted to strip and paint bottom when I discovered cracks on bottom around each of the support pads. One looks really nasty. Had a glass guy look and he relayed that on that big one, he could stick a credit card edgewise up into the hull. Wooden 2x8s under the keel but the 4 support arms were located more underneath rather then on the curve of the hull. The boat is in very good shape otherwise. I would like to know if the boat is worth repairing (my own labor) or should it be a write off .:cry: Robert

PS I work with fiberglass a lot just not on anything as heavy as a boat.

gonna have to take the value of the boat + fiberglass materials and determine if ya can find a better deal on another boat . what are the sail condition I've determined a sail boat is worth its weight in sails maybe the most valuable part of a sail boat

Who blocked the boat? If the yard misplaced the stands or did not set them correctly they may be responsible for the cost to repair.

Do you have insurance? If so, it may be time to contact them and maybe have a surveyor check out this damage. Document everything and get lots of pictures.
