Was wondering if the lousy Greek economy will translate into some good deals for bareboat chartering. I've always wanted to sail the Greek islands but found the distance/airfare a bit steep + the cost to rent a boat there was much more than the BVI's.
Any suggestions about possible charter companies that we might consider. (Other than Sunsail / Moorings) would be appreciated.
Ducati, my wife and I have bareboated several times in Greece. We absolutely love it. I don't recall it being more expensive than the BVIs, but my memory ain't what it used to be. Even so, we have found that, on the islands, the cost of living is much cheaper than the BVIs.
The latest we bareboated in Greece was about 2 years ago. We were with a company called Nomicos Yachts. They are based in Alimos on the mainland, but we caught the boat in Kos, where they have a base. The number is 210 9851385-7, fax 210 9858800 (don't know if 210 is the country code). Even found a website.

Another time, about 15 years ago, we booked the trip through Costos, a UK company, but the charter was actually through a local company, whose name I cannot remember.
I'll ask a friend of mine in the UK who does a LOT of chartering in Europe, including Greece.
(Send me a PM if I forget.

Or even if you want a little more info. )
