Removed generator, now Inverter does not work!

We have a 1999 h420cc and the Factory Generator was in the rear locker and exposed to salt water and turned into a pile of rust.

So I just unplugged it from the electrical, the fuel etc. and removed it.
All the electrical is still in the boat, untouched

but now the Inverter does not supply etc to the boat.

The Inverter light comes on saying it is inverting, but no power in the boat.

I have a feeling it is in the unplugged wires from the Generator., either that or it was just a coincidence.

Any idea as to what to look for to get my inverter giving us juice again?

Apparently no takers? It is hard to give a sensible diagnostic with the information provided. I do concur that your problem lies in the disconnected wiring. Some boats were equipped with a transfer switch to automatically prevent two sources of 120V ac current from operating concurrently. You could have removed power from or disconnected such a switch. Can't help you with particulars but perhaps point you in the right direction. Never owned an h420 so their systems do elude me and perhaps a few others. I do not believe in coincidences so check the wiring schematics. The light is on so you must have a source of 12V power now check the inverter output and then follow it to the boat's 120V system. Make sure you are off shorepower.

On my 2007 41DS there is a change in wiring at the 120 volt panel when an inverter is installed on the boat. Let me know if wiring schematics for my boat would help. If you can get a copy of the service manual for your boat, I think it would be possible to diagnose the problem.

I suspect you got reprimanded for the manner or tone in which you suggested it, not necessarily the content of the suggestion for a wiring diagram??

It is very likely the generator wiring contained the auto transfer switch for inverter/gen/shore and that was removed with the gen set and associated wiring..
