Looking for a Yanmar SB8 diesel

I'm looking for a Yanmar diesel engine, model SB8, used, or rebuilt. This is the late 70's vertical 8 hp model used in alot of sailboats. Could possibly use a Yanmar 1GM10 also. I purchased a 77' Hunter 27, the engine starts and runs smooth but, the previous owner failed to tell us that the engine may have a crack in the block. Any help would be appreciated.

A good machine shop may be able to fix the block by welding or cold stitching it.

A good machine shop may be able to fix the block by welding or cold stitching it.

Going to yank the engine today and tear it down. I've got a buddy that builds dragster chassis and is an excellent certified welder if we can do it. Keeping my fingers crossed for an easy fix.
